PRONE SHOOTING
.22 SMALL BORE SECTION.
The Small-bore rifle section meets each week on Thursday evenings, starting at 7-00pm October to the end of April, then 7-30 May to September. The main activity is prone shooting at 25 yards. During the winter season competition shooting is available to all shooters regardless of ability in team and or individual competitions, a wide range of leagues are entered. During the summer season shooting takes place both indoors at 25 yards, and at an out door range some 30 minutes away from Ross, at 50 metres and 100 yards, again competition shooting is available to all.
In 2013 we started a Bench Rest section, shooting with .22 match rifles, with iron or telescopic sights. This type of shooting is gaining in popularity: The shooting population is getting older and suffer from the problems that come with age! Bench Rest is shot on Wednesday evenings, starting at 7-00pm. We usually meet 2 evenings per month, dates on the club notice board.
